Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Hand Mixer or Whisk
  • Spatula
  • Serving Dish or Baking Pan

Ingredients

  • 17 oz blueberries fresh or defrosted
  • 2 tbsp sugar for blueberry layer
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice fresh
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with cold water
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream cold
  • 2 tbsp sugar for cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
  • 11 oz mascarpone cheese room temperature
  • 200 g savoiardi cookies ladyfinger biscuits
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Blueberry Filling: Add blueberries to a saucepan along with sugar and lemon juice. In a small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in cold water, then add it to the pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens slightly and looks glossy. Remove from heat and allow it to cool completely.
  • Whip the Cream: Pour cold heavy cream into a mixing bowl. Add sugar, vanilla extract, and sweetened condensed milk. Beat using a hand mixer until soft peaks form. The cream should be fluffy but not stiff.
  • Prepare Mascarpone Cream: Add mascarpone cheese to the whipped cream. Gently fold using a spatula until smooth and creamy. Do not overmix to maintain a light texture.
  • Assemble the Layers: Arrange a layer of savoiardi cookies at the bottom of your serving dish. Spread a layer of mascarpone cream evenly over the cookies, followed by a layer of blueberry filling.
  • Repeat and Finish: Continue layering cookies, cream, and blueberries until all ingredients are used. Finish with a generous layer of cream on top.
  • Garnish and Chill: Decorate the top with fresh blueberries. Cover the dish and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours, or until the dessert is well set and the flavors have blended.
